Brooke Justinger, M.S., Ed.S.

Educational Consultant, Academic Support Specialist

Hello! I’m Brooke Justinger, Educational Consultant and Academic Support Specialist for the Medical Psychology Associates – Milwaukee Team. This will be my first year joining this fantastic group of amazing professionals. My practice as an Educational Consultant and Academic Support Specialist focus on early childhood through adolescents.

For a little background information about me, I was a practicing school psychologist for 17 years and I have the utmost passion to make sure that every child will succeed. Throughout my career, I have worked in the Milwaukee Public School District, the School District of Greenfield, the Cedarburg School District, and the Mayville School District.

On a more personal-side, I am highly involved in my community, as well as the communities that surround me. I have two daughters that are involved in cheer and gymnastics, and a husband that has a personal business within our surrounding communities. Needless to say, I am excited to transition from the public sector to the private sector. As an Educational Consultant / Academic Support Specialist, I am looking forward to helping families make knowledgeable decisions about their child’s educational experience.

Professional Values and Experience:

Academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success is the pinnacle for a child’s development. At some point in a child’s life, one or more of these developmental milestones may become derailed. Therefore, it is my passion, as well as professional and ethical experience to support youth and families in getting these aspects of life back on track. With 17 years of diverse experience working in public school districts, licensed to work with early childhood youth to adolescents in high school, I have gained professional knowledge and awareness on how to address trauma, stress, anxiety, eating disorders, gender identity, learning concerns, social concerns, inequality, diversity, etc. My role is collaborative in nature with educators, parents, and other professionals to provide a supportive learning environment that strengthens connections between home, school, and the community for this delicate population.

My training as a school psychologist emphasized preparation in mental health and educational interventions, child development, learning, behavior, motivation, curriculum and instruction, assessment, consultation, collaboration, school law, and systems. While being a school psychologist, I wore many “hats” and provided the following services:

  • Work with students –

    • Increase achievement by assessing for current learning and providing recommendations to improve learning

    • Provide counseling and mentoring for students struggling with social, emotional, and behavioral problems

  • Work with students and their families –

    • Evaluate eligibility for special education services (within a multidisciplinary team)

    • Enhance home-school collaboration

    • Make referrals/help coordinate community support services

  • Work with teachers/staff –

    • Through Educational Support Teams, help identify/resolve academic and behavioral barriers to learning

    • Help with planning of academic and behavioral interventions

    • Help create positive classroom environments

    • Provide input with progress monitoring systems

    • Provide suggestions for effective individualized instruction

  • Work with administrators –

    • Collect and analyze data related to school improvement, student outcomes, and accountability requirements

    • Promote school policies and practices that ensure the safety of all students

I have been trained on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions, the Zones of Regulation curriculum, Love and Logic strategies, Social Communication Emotional Regulation and Transactional Supports (SCERTS), Second Step Curriculum, and much more.
